Programs at Family Resource Centers of

Columbia County

  • FRC Playgroups

For children birth to age 5 and their caregivers

Our weekly playgroups are safe, welcoming spaces where families gather to play, connect, and learn. Each session includes songs, stories, hands-on play, and a healthy snack. Caregivers get a chance to meet others while children build early social and literacy skills.

  • Literacy Voyage Program

A literacy and STEAM adventure for Pre-K–2nd graders

In this traveling program, we bring books to life with hands-on science, art, and literacy activities. Literacy Voyage sparks imagination and builds reading confidence in a fun, engaging environment. Sessions take place at libraries, schools, and community centers across the county.

  • Summer Playgroup

Keep the learning going all summer long!

Join us for outdoor play, story time, and water fun during our summer session of playgroups. These gatherings help children stay engaged while giving caregivers a supportive space to connect and unwind.

  • Clothing Exchange Closet

Take what you need. Share what you can.

Our Clothing Closet in Valatie provides free, gently used clothing for infants through age 6. Families are welcome to browse, pick up what they need, and donate when they can.
